No Decision Is Too Small: Ethical Decision Making for Counselors
Apply ethical principles in real-world counseling situations with clarity and confidence.
Course Overview
Ethical decisions don’t have to feel overwhelming. Learn a practical, repeatable process for making — and documenting — sound clinical decisions that protect both you and your clients.
Course Description:
Every decision we make as counselors is related to ethics: from charging a cancellation fee to keeping a session to the time limits to asking an open-ended question in session. How are you making these decisions: on the fly or with a formal process each time? A formal ethical decision making process is required of us yet doing so can seem complicated. This training will provide you with a step-by-step process, as well as a way to document it.
Learning Objectives:
- Recognize the importance of and reasons for using formal ethical decision making processes
- Utilize a formal ethical decision making process that you choose
- Implement documentation with the ethical decision making process
