Register at no cost as we support autistic clients and clinicians

The Details

DESCRIPTION

In a Council of Councils meeting, National Institutes of Health (NIH) director Dr. Jay Bhattacharya stated the NIH would be leveraging large-scale existing data resources, data resources that are available throughout the rest of the federal government and the private sector to create a real world data platform. He noted that this would be a “robust and secure computational data platform for chronic disease and autism research.” This platform has been described as an autism registry. What concerns do mental health clinicians need to consider with the potential for an autism registry to be created?

LEARNING OBJECTIVES

  • Recall three aspects of the potential autism registry as it relates to mental health clinicians
  • Understand about five considerations when diagnosing autism with the potential for an autism registry
  • Apply at least two updates to current approaches to keeping client data confidential
