Building Sustainable, Ethical Supervision for the Future
AI, self-care, and long-term responsibility in clinical leadership
Course Overview
Supervision is a long game — and doing it well over time requires intention, self-awareness, and the willingness to evolve. This on-demand training explores how supervisors can build sustainable, ethical practice for the future by addressing burnout prevention, self-care, and the responsible integration of emerging tools like AI into clinical supervision.
Course Description:
This training equips supervisors to look ahead — at their own sustainability, at the tools reshaping clinical work, and at the ethical responsibilities that come with long-term supervisory leadership. We examine warning signs of burnout, strategies for sustainable supervision practice, and a balanced framework for evaluating where AI may help and where it falls short in clinical and supervisory contexts.
Learning Objectives:
- Identify at least four indicators of supervisor burnout and understand how unaddressed fatigue affects supervisees and the quality of supervision.
- Apply about three strategies for building a more sustainable, self-aware supervision practice over the long term.
- Evaluate about two potential applications of AI in supervision and identify about two significant limitations or ethical concerns related to its use.
This Course Is For You If…
- You're feeling the cumulative weight of supervision and want to be more intentional about preventing burnout before it affects your work and your supervisees.
- You're curious about AI in clinical and supervisory practice and want a grounded, ethical framework for deciding if, when, and how to use it.
- You are a supervisor, clinical leader, or educator who wants to think proactively about the future of the profession and your long-term role in shaping it.

With a grounded perspective on both the promise and the limits of AI in clinical work, Dana offers a thoughtful, ethics-forward look at what it means to lead well — now and in the years ahead.
