Virtual Supervision: The Good, the Bad, and the Beautiful

Virtual supervision opens doors — let's make sure you're walking through them ethically and effectively.

---COURSE OVERVIEW---

Course Overview

Virtual supervision has opened real doors — more access, more flexibility, more options for both supervisors and supervisees. But it also comes with ethical, legal, and technological responsibilities that look different from in-person supervision. This on-demand training gives you a clear picture of virtual supervision done right: what regulations apply, how to address technology and confidentiality concerns, and how to adapt your supervisory process to a virtual environment.

Course Description:
This training explores virtual and distance supervision from three angles: ethical and legal regulations, technology considerations, and the supervisory process itself. We examine the regulatory landscape governing virtual supervision, discuss how technology affects privacy, confidentiality, and documentation, and explore how core supervisory practices translate into the virtual setting. By the end of this training, participants will have a practical framework for conducting virtual supervision that is ethically grounded, legally aware, and relationally effective.

Learning Objectives:

  • Apply supervisory processes in virtual supervision.
