Course Description:
Many of us might have focused on the person-to-person aspect of the counseling profession during our masters programs and did not realize the importance of records and documentation. In fact Records and Documentation is the second standard (A.1.b.) behind the first standard of client welfare as our Primary Responsibility (A.1.a.) in the ACA Code of Ethics. This training will focus on ways to simplify your note writing process while maintaining client confidentiality. Key considerations for note writing will also be covered in this training, such as Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance requirements.

Learning Objectives:

  • Recall ethical standards for counselors' note writing.
  • Apply ways to simplify the note writing process.
  • Understand key aspects of note writing to meet requirements of third party payers.
